A bit of good news for Little Theatre

Delays in attracting investment to a planned business hub in Lydney Pl mean Porirua Little Theatre has a home for the rest of this year.

Since October the troupe has been based at 4 Lydney Pl, the old Pete’s Emporium Building. Its lease was first due to expire last December 31, but was extended until July 31. Porirua City Council has now extended its stay again, till December 31.

The council intends to transform 4 Lydney Pl into a twostorey BizHub, where business people can entertain clients.

However, attracting investment to the centre had proved slower than anticipated, the council’s communications and marketing manager Barbara Bercic said.

‘‘ Without any firm agreements for the BizHub in place, it was agreed to offer the lease extension to Porirua Little Theatre for a further six months.’’

Bizhub partners on board are Porirua City Council, Porirua Chamber of Commerce, Whitireia and Massey University.
