Boost for Sallies’ foodbank stocks
Porirua Club’s members are a generous lot.
Throughout June the club collected cash and donations for the Salvation Army’s foodbank. More than $ 600 was raised, with Pak’nSave providing $300.
Former grocery buyer and Porirua Club executive member John Rowe then bought groceries. They were presented to Salvation Army foodbank co-ordinator Elizabeth Iona last Thursday night.
The club’s general manager, Lisa Beighton, said the club looked at ways to engage with the community and helping the foodbank was something members felt strongly about.
