Taekwondo hopefuls set for nationals
Te Rauparaha Arena will host the taekwondo national tournament this weekend.
Clubs from around the country will take part. The event runs from 8.15am on Saturday and Sunday.
Spectators are welcome. Entry is $5 for adults, $2 for children.
There will be sparring and individual assessments, in belt and weight divisions.
Titahi Bay Taekwondo Club will be looking to build on its success at the recent Hutt City open tournament when its 14 fighters won eight gold and six silver medals between them in the kyorugi (fighting) division.
Porirua taekwondo club will also be well represented, giving local competitors a chance to impress on the national stage.
