Disco de­light with two great bands


Satur­day night fever is com­ing to Porirua for a Bee Gees trib­ute show on Novem­ber 24.

Disco Nights will fea­ture two bands per­form­ing songs from Abba and the Bee Gees in a twohour show.

Gold Coast mu­si­cian Damian Wynne will per­form as Bee Gees gui­tarist and vo­cal­ist Barry Gibb.

Scotty Thomas will be Robin Gibb and Michael Lang­don will per­form as Mau­rice Gibb on key­board, gui­tar and vo­cals.

The trio will per­form hits in­clud­ing Mas­sachusetts, Words and Satur­day Night Fever.

Disco Nights will also in­clude songs the band wrote for stars Diana Ross, Dolly Par­ton and Kenny Rogers, with songs Chain Re­ac­tion, Is­lands In The Stream and Grease.

The Ul­ti­mate Bee Gees will per­form at the Porirua Club on Novem­ber 24 at 8pm. Tick­ets are $49 from eventfinder.co.nz.

We were del­uged with en­tries for last week’s Abba com­pe­ti­tion, also of­fer­ing three dou­blepasses to Disco Nights. En­trants were asked to name the song Abba per­formed when they won the Euro­vi­sion con­test in 1974 and launched their ca­reers. The an­swer was Water­loo.

The win­ners of the dou­ble passes were Faliu Ai­togi, Tr­isha Den­nett and Su­san Crook.
