Improved safety and parking for Cannons Creek

-

The Cannons Creek shopping centre’s parking area is being upgraded and a slow zone created through the village to improve safety. Work is expected to start in April that will see the shopping centre car park recon gured, with one entrance closed and the taxi stand moved to improve traf c and pedestrian safety. The upgrade was sparked by community demand and the Cannons Creek Residents and Ratepayers Association has worked with the Council’s Village Planning Programme and the Road Safety team to develop a plan. All of the following works will help create a natural slow zone around the shopping centre making it safer for pedestrians and motorists. Two public information sessions will be held in the Can- nons Creek Library on February 26 and 27 from 1pm to 3pm. Plans will be available and Council staff will be able to answer questions about the project.
