For­mer Mana Col­lege stu­dent Deb­bie Epiha- Rene has gained a Maori cadet­ship with the Bank of New Zealand.

Cadet­ships are avail­able for can­di­dates who are re­ferred and en­dorsed by BNZ iwi/ Maori busi­ness part­ners.

Ms Epiha- Rene was re­ferred by her un­cle, Ngati Tama chair­man Karewa Arthur and en­dorsed by Ngati Toa chair­man Taku Parai.

Ms Epiha-Rene, who was look­ing to study com­merce at Vic­to­ria Univer­sity this year, is the youngest of 12 cadets selected na­tion­wide to be men­tored through the many as­pects of bank­ing for six months, with the po­ten­tial to a build a long ca­reer in bank­ing.

Mana Col­lege was asked by Ngati Tama in De­cem­ber to nom­i­nate a cadet­ship can­di­date, said its board of trustees chair­man Chris Toa.
