Project changes our perceptions
Charlie Jackson has got extraordinary super powers.
The Tawa-Linden Playcentre attendee features in a book called the Super Power Baby Project by award-winning photographer Rachel Callander – a photographic art book showcasing children around New Zealand who were born with chromosomal and genetic conditions. The project aims to change the way in which children with abnormalities are addressed, and to recognise and appreciate the special abilities they have.
Charlie was guest of honour at the playcentre last Tuesday and his friends also showed off their best superhero costumes to support him.
Seventy children are featured in the book, which is available in bookstores.
