‘Have a go at bowls’ being offered

Titahi Bay Bowling Club is holding an open day this Saturday to give everyone in the community a chance to check out the club.

The open day takes place from 11am till 2pm, club spokesman Colin Amer said.

Flat-soled shoes or sneakers are needed if you want to try your hand on the green, he said.

‘‘Club members will be on hand to guide you on the art of bowling and we will also have a couple of competitions running,’’ he said.

Visitors will also get the chance to have a look at the clubrooms, including the Bayview Function Centre upstairs, Amer said.

There will be a free sausage sizzle during the open day.
