Why has the city council threatened the Saturday market supervised by the Titahi Bay Lions Club?

If the council wants to hold something more up-market, why not have it on a Sunday or at another location? There is surely room for more than one market.

It is interesting that the current Saturday market has out-survived other markets, like the ones at Moore Wilson’s and Dress Smart.
