Z stations clamp down on crime

Z Energy is using the latest licence plate recognitio­n software to clamp down on crime.

Z’s general manager of retail, Mark Forsyth, said the new technology had been successful­ly piloted and was now being rolled out around New Zealand.

There are three Z stations in the Porirua basin – Mana, Mungavin Ave and Tawa.

The software was the latest in a string of stateof-the-art security measures, following smoke cannons, SelectaDNA mist and an $8 million digital CCTV network on every site, Forsyth said.
