Council after best photos

-

Porirua residents are being asked to keep putting themselves in the picture and show off what this city has to offer.

Melissa Huggins’ photo of Muca, a 10-week old kitten, at Titahi Bay Beach was one of the latest photos received by Porirua City Council in its Passport to Discovery competition.

As part of the competition, residents have been encouraged to visit 12 scenic spots around the city, take a memorable photograph and fill up their Picture Porirua booklet.

So far residents have helped spread the good word by taking hundreds of snapshots all around Porirua.

The competition closing date has been extended until March 31.

The overall winner earns an Interislander ferry voucher. There are several other categories as well.

Facebook votes determine the weekly people’s choice award.

To enter, pick up a Passport to Discovery booklet from either the council or a Porirua library. Go to one of the 12 sites listed, take a photograph, and follow the instructions in the booklet. For more information, go to pcc.govt.nz/Leisure/ Passport-to-Discovery.
