Last week we reported on the public meeting about the Castor loop land, with the community expressing their concerns that the land was still empty.

It should not be news to any one that more houses are needed all over New Zealand. Waiting lists for social housing are long, people are sleeping in cars, maraes, or crowding out their relatives’ houses.

It is a shame that the Castor Loop land is empty. This week we reveal that a developer has expressed interest in the land, P6, but he can’t guarantee social housing.

The solution has to be out their somewhere and we need to find it fast.

Everyone in Porirua is entitled to live in a clean, dry and affordable home.
