‘Healthful situation’ of Porirua Asylum

people were housed there? Wonder if they were all truly ‘‘unwell’’?!!! Poor people! We used to call it ‘‘the mental home’’ - how ignorant we were. Heard some awful stories over the years and there was always one or two patients that escaped and caused commotion round Tawa, Linden, Porirua. How different the site is now, well, what’s left of it. Glad it’s gone - bad karma.’’
