Titahi Bay School set for triathlon

-

Titahi Bay School welcomes all competitors to its ninth annual triathlon on March 4.

Board of Trustees Chairperson Sarah Campbell said the event, to be held on Titahi Bay Beach, promoted health and fitness and brought the community together for a lot of fun.

‘‘We want our wider community to join us on the day to compete, enjoy food, drinks, raffles and the stunning Titahi Bay scenery,’’ she said.

‘‘Over the years we have been holding the triathlon, the number of children riding to school and enjoying our amazing bike track has risen hugely.

‘‘Having an event in which our over 400 children and those from other schools can compete against their friends or just enjoy completing the event is a great way to keep them active.’’

Distances from 250m to 1.5km are available.

Registration is on the day at the table near the surf lifesaving club. Eftpos is available. All money raised will go towards new seating at the school’s hall.

The postponement date for the event is March 18.
