Cake tester, guitarist and art lover

-

Principal by day and cake tester, well, whenever he can. We chat with ‘‘Mr U.’’

Playing guitar - averagely. Eating cake - expert!

DO YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL TALENTS?

Yes I aman expert cake grader. I grade all manner of cakes where needed. I just need samples dropped off and I’ll get back to you.

IF YOU COULD INVITE THREE PEOPLE TO DINNER - LIVING OR DEAD - WHO WOULD THEY BE?

Matisse, Mia and theirmum Ondine - Why? Because I love them more than life.

FAVOURITE PLACE IN PORIRUA?

My house

IF YOU COULD HAVE ONE SUPER POWER WHAT WOULD IT BE?

To fix the answer below with the click of your fingers!

WHAT SCARES YOU?

Kids not reaching their potential. And worse - kids with potential settling for nehh! Also, societal issues out of control.

WHOWOULD PLAY YOU IN THE MOVIE ABOUT YOUR LIFE?

Well I’d like for ‘The Rock’ to but he’s busy (and skinny) so I would gladly settle for local heroes Tofiga or Dave Fane!

WHATWAS YOUR HIGHLIGHT OF 2016?

Appointing a dynamite DP & AP team and a solid ERO result.

WHAT THREE THINGS WOULD YOU TAKE IF YOU WERE GOING TO BE STRANDED ON A DESERT ISLAND?

A water purifier, a homing device and flint.

WHAT IS YOUR DREAM HOLIDAY LOCATION?

There’s this painting called, ‘‘Rendezvous on Ru du Mont Cenis.’’ It’s by a Russian modern day contemporary artist named Evgeny Lushpin and is a beautiful scene on these famous (sort of) steps in Montmartre, Paris.

In the painting there’s a couple meeting in the middle of the steps in the rain under umbrellas - hence the name!

Now, not that I want to spend a holiday going up and down steps, but if you take the time to look at the artist’s impression, how could you not want to rendezvous on a rainy night in Paris with a loved one?

Until then, the equally prettiful but in a different way - Te Anau.
