Business awards finalists named

Porirua businesses are in the spotlight with the announcement of the finalists for the Westpac Porirua Business Awards 2017.

Nick Leggett, acting Porirua Chamber of Commerce boss, said he was delighted with the number and calibre of this year’s entries.

‘‘Porirua is a growing city with a dynamic and diverse business community and that is evident in the large, small, long established and new businesses who are finalists.

‘‘Between them they tell a story of a city that continues to emerge as a central business location within the Wellington region.’’

The Sole Trader finalists are: Ritual Beauty Therapy, Terry Jones Mortgages and Whitby Newsbrief.

In the Small Business category, Whitby Pharmacy, TEG Risk and Pearce Maguire T/A Share are finalists, sponsored by Mexted Performance Sports Services.

The Medium Business finalists are Reds Hairdressing, Nada Bakery and AlphaNZ Technology Group Ltd, while the Large Business finalists are Preston’s Master Butchers, Palmers Plimmerton and Moore Wilson.

English Language Partners Porirua Centre, RSA Porirua and Community Law Centre are finalists for the Contributions to the Community award, while the Excellence in Client Service category finalists are AlphaNZ Technology Group Ltd, TEG Risk and Third Arm Admin.

Last year, Downer Civil Construction took out the large enterprise winner as well as the supreme award.
