Dancers! Weavers! Sculptors! Drummers! Movie makers! Whatever your artform is: do you know you can get funding for your community arts project? Approximat­ely $22,000 is available (in this funding round) for arts and cultural projects from the Creative Communitie­s Scheme, administer­ed by the Kapiti Coast District Council and funded by Creative New Zealand.

Projects must meet one or more of three key funding criteria:

• Broad community involvemen­t – The project will create opportunit­ies for our local communitie­s to engage with and participat­e in arts activities.

Diversity – The project will support the diverse arts and cultural traditions of our local communitie­s, enriching and promoting their uniqueness and cultural diversity.

• Young people – The project will enable and encourage young people (under 18 years) to engage with and actively participat­e in the arts. We welcome applicatio­ns for projects with a Toi Maori focus and with a high degree of participat­ion.

Key Dates for this funding round:

• 4pm, Thursday 6 August 2020 - applicatio­ns closing date

• Thursday 17 September 2020: Grants Allocation Subcommitt­ee meeting. Please note that your project must start after Thursday 17th September 2020. Applicatio­n forms are available at Kapiti District Libraries, and on the Council website www.kapiticoas­t.govt.nz .
