POLICE REPORT

-

Sergeant Steve Hindmarsh

Anumber of trailers are being stolen in the greater Western Bay of Plenty district and now we have had two stolen from the Katikati area.

On the evening of June 26 a flat deck tandem trailer was stolen from a yard on Wedgewood St.

The offenders have cut the padlock to a gate to enter the yard.

Between 4.30am and 5.20am on June 25 a flat deck tandem trailer was stolen from a rural property on Walker Road East.

It may be a good idea to think about the security of your trailer if you own one.

Towball locks and wheel clamps are good ways of preventing the theft of trailers and are relatively inexpensive.

With the country now at alert level 1 we have seen an increase in front counter inquiries.

A lot of these don’t require you to come into the station and although we are always happy to help you we understand time can be precious and it may not suit for you to come in.

If you would prefer a lot of the time these can be dealt with over the phone or online reporting.

Warrant action

On Monday, June 29 a 29-year-old Katikati man was arrested on a warrant issued for his arrest. He appeared in the Tauranga District Court that day.
