Response list busy

A very quiet period for Omokoroa volunteer firefighters with only two callouts logged in the last fortnight.

A tree down beside the road on State Highway 2 was dealt to by a Tauranga appliance as the caller gave an inaccurate address of the location.

A security alarm technician accidentally activated the manual call point alarm at Pahoia School, which in turn had both Omokoroa and Katikati Brigades responding. No action was taken by either brigade.

However, the Omokoroa First Responders were busy, being called eight times in the same period to one cardiac arrest, a stroke, breathing problems, seizures and an elderly person who fell injuring herself.
