Stranded Aussie artist puts on ‘haere ra’ show

-

In Athenree a mother from Newcastle found herself staying much longer than anticipated. Planning a two-week visit with her daughter in early March she is hoping to go home soon.

Anne Curtis, author, artist and mother decided to use her skills to keep busy during lockdown. She placed her eight e-books on Amazon as readers for reluctant readers.

As New Zealand moved to alert level 3, Anne moved to improve her watercolour skills in her artistic way. Her protracted stay saw her carefully studying our varied birdlife and capture them on art paper.

Anne is hoping to be on a flight home on Tuesday. But before she goes there is going to be a showing of her works at 3 Waione Avenue in Athenree for everyone to enjoy on Saturday, July 11, from 2pm-4pm.

Those who have already met Anne this is also a chance to say ‘haere ra’.
