- DEPUTYHEADGIRL Charlotte Schnackenberg

Whydid you apply to be a student leader?

I applied to be a leader because I thought it would be an awesome opportunity to work alongside students and teachers and give back. I sawit as a perfect wayto use and growmy leadership skills I have gained from coaching a hockey team and going on Outward Bound, both opportunities I wouldn’t have had without the help and support of Katikati College.

Whatwill you bring to your role in 2021?

Bubbly personality, team player, strong work ethic and a sense of let’s have some fun!

If youcouldmakeone positive change at the school what would it be?

Better network of mates between form classes and year groups that will create amore positive and fun culture for Katikati College.

1. Whydid youapply to be a student leader?

I’ve always wanted tomakea change in the world and school is a good place to start.

I applied so that I could give back to the school by representing the students and so I could grow and improvemyleadership skills for the future.

2. What will you bring to your role in 2021?

I’ll always be a hard worker and committed tomyrole, and always work with and for the students.

I hope Iwill be able to act as someonewhocan see and consider all sides of an issue rather than just the student, caregiver or staff perspective.

3. If you couldmakeone positive change at the school what would it be?

Iwant to improve the community and inclusivity within the school, making sure every student’s voice, no matterwhothey are, is heard and considered.

Themost helpful thing for thriving at school is feeling a sense of belonging and importance, which iswhyIwould work towards ensuring the school feels likeawelcoming environment in which students can be fully themselves without judgment.
