AMBULANCE REPORT

Katikati St John ambulance crews attended 34 calls last week, another busy period. Twenty-four of these calls were in the Katikati area, eight in Tauranga, and one in each at Mt Maunganui and Papamoa Beach.

Thirty patients were transported to hospital, one to a GP surgery, and three were treated at home.

The six trauma calls included two motor vehicle accidents.

Katikati and Tauranga crews swapped stations for one shift for crew familiarisation.

The Omokoro a first response team had a busy week, with six callouts. Tauranga ambulance crews attended 10 calls in the Katikati area, and there was one attendance by an intensive care paramedic in our area.
