Garden tours at Paulette Earl’s delightful Waiau Road garden in Athenree were a huge success raisingmore than $3500 for the Katikati St John Ambulance service.

Hosted onNovember 7 by Paulette and two friends, Karen Kurtovich and Jane Hughes Hallett, the garden had sprung back to life after heavy rain a fewdays before. The weather held for the day and the event was well attended with tickets sales on the day exceeding the organisers’ expectations. This combined with the proceeds of two raffles together with the food and produce donated by neighbours and friends contributed to the final total.

Paulette says somevisitors stayed, satdownand enjoyed the garden. Somesuggested that it could be an annual event.

“People certainly seemed to enjoy visiting the garden and I think it helped to have Little Miss Jay’s coffee cart as an additional drawcard.”
