Art and jewellery exhibition inspired by hues of the season

-

The title, Summer Colour aptly describes the next exhibition at the Carlton Gallery which opens on Monday, December 7, featuring Jeanne-Marie Cantereau’s watercolour paintings, and jewellery from Virginia and Stuart Angus.

Jeanne-Marie’s exhibition displays the landscapes, flowers and native birds of NewZealand.

Watercolour has been

Jeanne-Marie’s passion for manyyears and she has been successful with national, regional and local awards. She finds the flow of the paint running on the paper challenging and unpredictable but ultimately rewarding. While she has paintedmany subjects, her favourites are birds and flowers.

Jeanne-Marie will be painting at the Carlton Gallery every day during the exhibition from 9.30am to 12.30pm.

Stuart and Virginia’s exhibition shows jewellery and dinnerware. Stuart Angus taught himselfhowtomake

enamel jewellery in a small kiln which requires a lot of patience and skill.

Virginia Angus concentrates on ceramics suitable for the garden combining them with steel and metal workmadeby Stuart. After 45 years working with clay she still enjoys the mediumand using all the wonderful colours that are

available today.

The exhibition runs until Sunday, December 20. i
