Why Emirates trans-Tasman?

-

W ith the partnership between Qantas and Emirates growing day by day the average punter has plenty of options for trans-Tasman flights, and not just with these two superb airlines.

Personally I am a huge Emirates fan and whether I am going to Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane, I prefer their schedule. I depart late afternoon, and arrive in any of the aforementioned 3 cities, check in to my hotel, catch a great night’s sleep and then I am ready for meetings the very next day…8 am if necessary.

I’m refreshed, relaxed and I haven’t had to jump in a cab straight from the airport to my first meeting.

Their schedule also means that I can eat one of their sumptuous meals on board and not have to worry about dinner when I get to my hotel.

I must also admit to being an A380 junkie …it’s like a drug to me…I can’t get enough of it. So I am really looking forward to Emirates adding that to their Brisbane route very soon.

For me anyway, their business class is ideal. I have plenty of space to spread out, each seat has a power supply for laptops, an extra large table to work on and I am not constantly being asked to move because someone wants to go to the bathroom!

I can also use my mobile phone, check emails, surf the web and do almost anything else from my seat; so I don’t lose those valuable hours in the air twiddling my thumbs, waiting for my plane to land. It’s as if I was at my desk at work… except nicer.

And, if I do decide to relax I can catch a few ZZZs on their lie flat bed, select from almost 1,500 entertainment and news channels on their inflight entertainment system (ICE), or head to the back of the plane and share a refreshing drink with fellow, like-minded travellers.
