First Class Returns With Singapore Airlines

-

From the 30th October Singapore Airlines (SIA) will return to Auckland with their First Class cabin for the first time since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic with the Airline’s Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

The aircraft will operate daily on SQ285/SQ286 between Auckland and Singapore during the Northern Summer schedule, from 30th October till 25th March 2023, replacing the current Airbus A350-900 Long Haul aircraft operating the route.

The return of SIA’s 777-300ER will deliver Auckland customers a choice of four cabin classes, First, Business, Premium Economy and Economy Classes.

In addition, Singapore Airlines will resume its SQ281/282 service, operating four-times weekly from 30th October till 25th March 2023, delivering Auckland a total of 11-weekly SIA flights between the Lion City and Auckland.

Thanks to the strong Alliance partnership between SIA and Air New Zealand, customers will also have the option of travelling between Auckland and Singapore on one of Air New Zealand’s daily services, offering a choice of 18-weekly flights between the two cities.

Singapore Airlines General Manager New Zealand, Mr. George Robertson, said the return of the Boeing 777-300ER to New Zealand was another positive step for the local travel industry and tourism’s recovery.

“We are thrilled that we will once again be able to offer our customers the choice of four cabin classes from Auckland, along with increased services thanks to our strong alliance partner, Air New Zealand,” Mr. Robertson said.

“Returning First Class to Auckland provides another option for Kiwi customers to resume their international travel plans in comfort after a difficult couple of years.

“We have proudly operated to New Zealand for more than 45 years and being able to once again offer a world-leading First Class cabin product to Auckland further reinforces our commitment to keeping New Zealand connected and providing our customers with a choice of cabin classes to suit their travel needs.

“It is exciting to see the demand for travel continue to grow as borders reopen and international travel rebounds, and we look forward to what the future holds for our services to New Zealand.”

Singapore Airlines’ First Class cabin product provides customers enhanced comfort with a fixed-back shell design and curved side panels to provide space and privacy in an exclusive cabin featuring just four luxurious seats.

With a focus on a space designed for any kind of need, customers can enjoy an ergonomically sculpted cushion and adjustable headrest for greater seating comfort. When it is time to rest, the seat converts into one of the largest fully-flat beds in the sky featuring a padded headboard for extra comfort and support and an additional mattress topper.
