Hi there lovely families, I hope you have all been staying safe. Just an update that there will be no sport in Level 3 of the lockdown. There are 32 associations that have agreed community sport will be the main priority when we are allowed to return to the turfs and fields. All national representative tournaments for the remainder of 2020 have been cancelled. A decision on whether there will be any National, Secondary, or Schools tournament and Anchor AIMS Games taking place this year is expected over the coming months.

There is a possibility that we may be able to return to some form of sports activity during Level 2, however, this is still being worked through and it is anticipated that we will have more information on this around Friday 1st May.

Once we have clarity on what we can and cannot do during Levels 1 and 2 we will communicate this to our community so everyone can prepare accordingly.

Health and Safety is going to be paramount when we return to any sport as we strive to provide a safe environment for everyone involved. Sport NZ is currently working with the Ministry of Health and other organisations around requirements for sports facilities, including Contact Tracing.

We are sure everyone is feeling like me at the moment - frustrated that we can’t be outside undertaking activities that bring joy to our lives. Covid-19 is a unique situation that is new to everyone and we all have a responsibility to do our bit for society by following the rules to get through this crisis.
