Moss and lichen growing on your roof?

Just as the grass grows and must be mown, so too will your roof accumulate moss and lichen that must be treated.

Left to run rampant, moss and lichen will create problems that both detract from the value of your house and can also lead to significant damage.

Because the treatment won’t take effect overnight, some roofs with a heavy coating of lichen can take up to a year to weather off, so it’s best to get in while the going’s good.

While it’s possible to spray the roof yourself, Neville doesn’t recommend it.

“Once you work out the correct amount of product you need to do the job correctly, it often works out dearer than having someone like myself to do it for you,” he says, also noting the potential for damage to the roof or a fall causing injury.
