Alt-country artist plays

Rolling Stone says Australian singer, songwriter and guitarist Jed Rowe is “heartland alt-country shot through with nostalgia”.

Jed will be at the Palmerston North Folk Club tomorrow night, Friday September 21.

And if you miss him there, Jed will be at the Musicians Club in Whanganui on Saturday night.

Melbourne-based, Jed will perform songs from his fourth album, A Foreign Country, a richly-told collection of stories of Australian life.

The songs were finished in a rented apartment above the street in northern Germany while he was on tour there in late 2016, and recorded in Melbourne by multiple Aria award winner Jeff Lang. Jed has toured extensively in Australia and Europe where his weissenborn (lap slide) guitar playing and emotive vocal delivery have earned him a reputation as a standout live performer. In 2017 he was nominated for Best Folk/Roots Album in The Age Music Victoria Awards.
