-

Amy Satterthwaite has hit her second unbeaten century in three days in guiding New Zealand to an eight wicket over Pakistan in the third women’s one-day international at Lincoln.

Satterthwaite hit 115 not out from 101 balls to steer the White Ferns home after Pakistan scored a challenging 263-6 in their 50 overs at Bert Sutcliffe Oval yesterday.

She had scored a career-high 137 in Friday’s clash between the two sides, with New Zealand winning a rain-shortened game by 60 runs.

The win yesterday gave New Zealand an unbeatable 3-0 lead in the five match series and vital points towards automatic qualification for the ICC Women’s World Cup next year.

Bismah Maroof was the star for Pakistan, scoring 91 not out off 98 balls, as they batted first after winning the toss. She and Javeria Khan, who hit 73, put on 117 for the third wicket. Satterthwaite was the most successful bowler with 2-65 off her 10 overs.

The White Ferns’ chase began well with Suzie Bates and Rachel Priest putting on 60 for the first wicket. When Priest fell for 22, Bates and Satterthwaite put on 102 before Bates was out for 74. Satterthwaite and Katey Martin put the seal on the match with a 105-run partnership, Martin being unbeaten on 50.

Sana Mir was the only successful Pakistan bowler, with 2-43.

The fourth ODI is at Nelson on Thursday.
