Rousey’s home vandalised as deflated star pumped up

- MMA

Talk about being kicked when you are down.

UFC star Ronda Rousey’s Los Angeles home has been vandalised, just a couple of weeks after a 48-second defeat at the hands of Amanda Nunes, which could end her career.

Her Venice Beach home has been tagged with black scrawl and The Sun reported she appeared stressed when she emerged from her home.

The paper did not give any details about the tag.

It was the first time Rousey has been seen by the public since her devastating loss.

Rousey was touted as the UFC’S highest paid star and her success also led to film deals.

However, that has come crashing down on the back of two losses, the first to Holly Holm and then Nunes on December 30.

Rousey is yet to confirm where to next in regard to her plans.

The 29-year-old has stayed relatively silent since the latest loss but did wade in with a cryptic social media message this week quoting JK Rowling.

‘‘And so rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life,’’ she said in the post.

This week Rousey was provided some support from a surprising source in terms of boxing star Floyd Mayweather.

The two have previously exchanged words and baited each other in public.

However, Mayweather has offered her some encouragement following Rousey’s latest loss.

‘‘I want Ronda Rousey to hold your head up, stay focused, keep believing. A true champion can bounce back. You’ll be okay. Everything will be okay,’’ he told Fight Hype.

‘‘I think that, with her losing, it had a lot to do with time off.

‘‘She should have competed against another female MMA fighter that wasn’t as active as the female that she faced.

‘‘I think the female that she faced, I think that she was rugged and tough.

‘‘We can’t take anything away from the girl that she faced.

‘‘The girl that Ronda Rousey faced, she was a tough competitor.

‘‘She was the better woman that night.

‘‘But Ronda Rousey has a lot left. She has a lot left.

‘‘I don’t want her to think this the end of the world. She’s hearing it from the best.’’

Mayweather went as far as encouraging her to stick with her sport.

‘‘She’ll be okay. Ronda Rousey, hold your head up.

‘‘You’re still a true champion in our eyes.

‘‘You made women MMA huge, so stay focused, go back to the drawing board, and do what you got to do. 2017 is a whole new year,’’ he said.

‘‘That was last year. That was 2016, if I’m not mistaken.

‘‘Now it’s 2017, so you’re undefeated this year. Come back, champ.’’
