Three unbeaten teams in T20 competition

- CRICKET

Three unbeaten teams, United, Old Boys and Freyberg, lead the table after two rounds of the club cricket Twenty20 competition at the weekend.

They first rounds two weekends ago were rained off, so these were the first two games.

The final round is at midday this Saturday, with the final at 3.30pm, but the two finalists won’t be decided until after the final round.

United pumped Palmerston by 164 runs and beat Palmerston North Boys’ High School by 31 runs on Saturday. Old Boys beat Palmerston by eight wickets, chasing down Palmerston’s total of 73 in 12 overs, and beat Marist by six wickets.

Freyberg beat Marist by 54 runs and Boys’ High by six wickets.

Because United had the big win over Palmerston, they are likely to go through to the final even if they lose their final-round match against Marist. The other finalist will be whoever wins out of Freyberg and Old Boys

The premier two one-day final is this Saturday between Old Boys and Feilding.

Wanderers won the premier three final at the weekend, beating Manawatu-foxton by 127 runs.
