The Palmerston North Boys’ High School first XI made light work of Wanganui Collegiate, crushing them by eight wickets in the semifinals of the Central Districts Gillette Cup qualifiers. Wanganui batted first and were all out for 96 after spinner Ben O’connor tore through their top and middle order on the way to impressive figures of 5-16. Boys’ High lost two wickets in their run chase, but opener Tom Tremain guided the team to victory with 50 not out. Boys’ High now take on Nelson today in the final.
