St Peter’s continue impressive run of form

The St Peter’s girls have showed no signs of slowing down on day three of the New Zealand Secondary Schools Volleyball Championsh­ip in Palmerston North.

After pool play, St Peter’s have been placed in girls’ division three for the playoffs, beating Haeata Community Campus, Wellington Girls’ College and Bishop Viard College in straight sets.

Palmerston North Girls’ High School have also been placed in division three and had two wins on day three, beating Onehunga High School 2-1 and Mt Maunganui College B 3-1. They lost to St Margaret’s College 2-3.

In division two, Palmerston North Boys’ High School A finished day three on a high, beating Otago Boys’ High School in straight sets. They lost to Trident High School A 1-3, and Tauranga Boys’ College B 0-3.

In division four, the Boys’ High B team lost to Tauponui-a- Tia College 2-3 and Auckland Grammar Colts 1-3.

In the boys division five, Freyberg High School beat Whakatane High School B in straight sets. They later lost to Whanganui High School 0-3.

Boys’ High’s year 10 team claimed their first victory against Marlboroug­h College B 2-1, but also lost to Riccarton High School B 0-3.

In girls division 5, Longburn Adventist College beat Wellington High School 3-0 but lost against Rangi Ruru girls 1-2 and Aotea College 0-3.

In girls’ division six, Freyberg High School had one win against St Andrews College B. They went on to lose later in the day to Trident High School C and Fielding High School 1-2. Fielding High School lost to Trident High School C 3-0 and Campion College B 3-0.

They finished the day strongly with a win against local team Fielding High School 2-1.
