Foxton revive their chances

- GEORGE HEAGNEY

Home course advantage paid off for Foxton as they upset Taihape to keep their semifinal chances alive in the latest round of club pennants.

Normally Foxton beating Taihape wouldn’t be a huge upset, but with the form Taihape have been in this year, a Foxton win wouldn’t have been expected.

The win puts Foxton in fifth place, equal with Feilding on nine points, but behind them on games won.

In the last round at Levin in two weeks, Feilding will play Taihape and Foxton will play Tawhero.

Third-placed Taihape should qualify for the semifinals, but Foxton and Feilding will need to win to take the fourth spot.
