Forestry victim named

Police have released the name of a man who died when a tree fell on a car near Bulls in Rangit¯ıkei. He was Levi Dylan Goodwin, 26, from Feilding. Emergency services were called to a farm near Bulls in Pukehou Rd about 2.30pm on Monday. The tree fell during a forestry operation, police said. Goodwin died and two others were left injured by a falling tree crushing a car. One person was transferred to Wellington Hospital and was in a serious condition in the intensive care unit. In a death notice, Goodwin was described as a loved son, brother and partner, as well as being a father of two. Worksafe is investigating the incident.
