Wesche wins world gold

Kiwi shot putter Maddison Wesche has produced a personal best under pressure to win the IAAF World Under-20 Championship. Wesche, who was third after the second round with a throw of 16.47m, charged into the gold medal position with a lifetime best of 17.09m in her final throw in Tampere, Finland yesterday. The mammoth throw from the 19-year-old Aucklander added 9cm to her previous personal best.
