Caught on camera at our country’s border

compassion by not taking her disability car. Then Stuart and Elmor corner Philip Brace, a laptop repairer, who owes nearly £5000 to the landlord.

Sadly, his laptops are clap-tops, so Philip asks his family to help pay. Karen appeals her decision and loses but we’re not told the final outcome.

The series is cheap, intrusive voyeurism and ugly to watch. I’m sure it’s untruthful because neither the High Court guys nor their victims behave like that away from the camera.

The Louis Vuitton shoe was on the other foot when Michelle Young sued her former husband, Scott, for half his wealth and possessions. In Millionaires’ Exwives Club (TV One, Tuesday) Michelle battled for years to get half of Scott’s booty. But when unexpectedly he offers her 30 million quid out of court, she turns him down. That was silly.

Five weeks later he plunges to his death, probably at the hands of the Russian oligarchy or another garchy nearby. While Michelle may have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, the doco shows the length to which wealth plus influence plus crafty lawyers can go to avoid paying out.

It’s true there’s very little current affairs going on in New Zealand beyond heart-warming stories that take longer to tell than two minutes on the 6pm news. So I enjoyed TV One Sunday’s item about a courageous Kiwi, Jamie Joseph, who’s fighting the rhino poachers in Africa. Or Chief Inspector Alex Horn from Munich, who’s been called in to investigate the death of a perfectly preserved 5000-yearold mummy.

The mummy’s actually a daddy who looks like a Kris Kristofferson with a five o’clock shadow. He was killed by an arrow shot through the shoulder that pierced his heart.

For Alex Horn, it wasn’t a cold case, it was a frozen case. His challenge is to find a killer. I’d settle for a Woolly Mammoth with a crossbow.

Did you notice that North Korea is now the enemy of the United States, along with Isis, Mexico and anyone else who picks a fight? So it’s not surprising that NCIS LA (TV3, Wednesdays) is battling agents from Pyongyang.

Keith Stiger is a North Korean who’s carrying explosives around LA and Callen and Sam have to stop him before he blows a hole in Hollywood.

Not only do they shoot him in a hail of bullets, they snip the wires before the bomb explodes and keep LA, Disneyland, Universal Studios and the free world safe from explosion. Phew, well done.

What was never explained is how Stiger got out of North Korea when even Kim Jong Un has difficulty.

Perhaps they should stick to Russia as the enemy.
