Remember during the Ma¯ori ward debate the claim that Ma¯ori lacked representation? Mayor Grant Smith is leading a council delegation of six to Missoula and three are Ma¯ori. Add to that the mayor’s wife is paying her own way whereas Mrs Te Awe Awe travels at ratepayers’ expense. Ask yourself why?
