❚ Have councillors all got new toys, hence the secrecy? BR

❚ Can’t believe dropping Saddle Rd speed limit to 60kmh is even being considered.

If you can’t drive safely on the open road to the conditions without some idiot sitting in an office forcing you down to 60kmh the whole way over the Saddle, you shouldn’t be driving.

❚ Sad to see Women’s Refuge under pressure. Our small city should feel shame we harbour this violent secret.

Thank God there’s the refuge for women in need. I ask where are those buggers who harm women and kids? Pam

❚ Why don’t the city council do something about the cyclists on footpaths.

They have lanes on roads, or do

walkers use them?

❚ Not good enough Grant Smith. It’s ratepayer money and I will be voting for every new face next election. James

❚ Can we please find out what other corporate welfare our generous councillors have doled out? Thank God for the Official Information Act. If this is Grant Smith’s idea of transparency he won’t be getting my vote again and nor will any councillors who supported this $400,000 welfare grant.

(Ed: We’ve asked the council what other discretionary grants it’s made and who voted for it. We’re yet to get an answer).
