Reporter smashes knee

-

TVNZ reporter Tim Wilson is recovering after a scooter accident. The Seven Sharp reporter told the programme he ripped up his kneecap after going airborne while scooting down a hill in Auckland. He said his kneecap shattered in eight places and he was hospitalised after the accident. The accident happened on Waitangi Day, when Wilson was riding his push scooter downhill. He said it hit dodgy gravel, which sent him into the air. His knee then hit the bar of the scooter and was torn up, he said. ‘‘I ripped [my pants] open and I looked and it was like my knee was made of Plasticine and it was like someone had pushed a Holiday pack of menthol 25s into it.’’
