Murder charge
A man has been charged with murder following the death of another man in Snells Beach, north of Auckland. The 35-year-old man died following an argument with a person known to him, Detective Inspector Aaron Proctor said. A 33-year-old man was arrested after officers were called to an incident about 11.30pm on Sunday. He appeared at the North Shore District Court yesterday and was granted interim name suppression and was remanded in custody until March 6. A neighbour said drums could be heard at the house most of Sunday, followed by raised voices about 11pm. She said the incident had come as a shock. A colleague of the deceased said he was a ‘‘really good person and a very good worker’’. Forensic officers were at the house yesterday morning, while uniformed officers guarded the taped-off home.
