Tenors bring taste of Italy

Daytime concert series coming to the South.

Famous songs and ballads are set to transport listeners to Italy.

Papakura’s Hawkins Theatre and entertainm­ent company Operatunit­y are hosting The Three Tenors.

The daytime concert series is bringing the show That’s Amore to the stage with tenors Bonaventur­e Allan-Moetaua, Derek Hill, and Kalauni Pouvalu.

Allan-Moetaua, Hill and Pouvalu have been performing together within New Zealand and abroad for around five years.

Along with soprano Susan Boland they’ll be bringing their friendship, humour and talent to 24 centres across New Zealand.

Allan-Moetaua grew up in Wellington before studying singing at the University of Auckland and has performed with Operatunit­y for over 12 years.

In 2004 he was awarded the Iosefa Enari Scholarshi­p Award for the support and developmen­t of Pacific Island Opera Singers, was a finalist for the New Zealand Aria competitio­n and has performed with New Zealand Opera.

Hill is a graduate of McGill University in Montre´al, Canada and has worked with New Zealand Opera, New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and Auckland Philharmon­ia Orchestra.

Pouvalu graduated from the University of Auckland and has been performing with Operatunit­y since 2014.

He has won a number of awards including the prestigiou­s Dame Kiri Te Kanawa Foundation Award for the most promising classical singer in 2013.
