People having an issue with dogs should contact Animal Management, says Auckland Council. Depending on the situation, it will give advice and information, issue a warning, infringement or noise abatement notice, or classify a dog as menacing or the owner as probationary or disqualified. Call the council on 301 0101 or for urgent problems call Animal Management directly on 0800 462 685. Complaints can be made about aggressive, wandering or barking dogs. This follows the reported nearpoisoning of a dog with poison wrapped in bacon.
