Dogs in need of kennels

- STAFF REPORTER

With the wet weather that Auckland is experiencing, it’s important that dogs have adequate shelter when they are outdoors.

SPCA inspectors are currently out and about in the community working to help people to be good pet owners.

A basic kennel is often one of the few things needed to make a huge difference to the life of a dog.

The SPCA urgently needs donations of kennels for the inspectors to provide for dogs in need.

Plastic kennels in working order are ideal for the inspectors to transport and set up.

The work the inspectors do in the community educating and preventing harm is vital to the work at SPCA Auckland.

The more animals they can help in their homes, the fewer animals the SPCA will see needing its help at the Animal Village, it says.

Contact the SPCA Auckland on 256 7300 if you have a plastic kennel to donate. It should not be broken and should be one you no longer need.

Donations can also be dropped off at the Animal Village at 50 Westney Rd, Mangere.

If you are unable to drop your kennel off at the Animal Village, SPCA staff can arrange for it to be picked up.
