MAN PLEADS GUILTY
Aman due to stand trial for murder has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of manslaughter. Wiremu Ormsby, 26, appeared at the High Court at Auckland on Wednesday where he pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Tauailapalapa Mati, 33. A charging document alleged Ormsby ’’intentionally caused grievous bodily harm’’ to Mati, whose body was discovered at a boarding house in Otahuhu, south Auckland in July last year. Ormsby initially pleaded not guilty to murder and was due to stand trial in October. He will be sentenced in September.
