Residents of Mangere can stop their hunt for Justice of the Peace (JP) services in the area. The Mangere JP Support Group have decided to be more accessible to the public.

Two new JP service desks have been placed in Mangere. One is in the foyer of PAK’nSAVE in Mangere. It will be open every Thursday from 10am to 12:30pm.

The other service desk is at the Mangere Bridge Library, open every Saturday from 10am to 12.30pm.

The support group is a first of its kind initiative that was started in association with the Mangere MP Su’a William Sio. All the JPs in Mangere that are part of the group meet to catch up on the latest practices, share their expertise and get some training.

Mangere MP Su’a William Sio says he gets a ‘‘constant flow of people asking for JPs‘‘.

‘‘My vision which is we can have at least three service desks in Mangere Bridge, Mangere Central and Mangere East,’’ he adds.

Auckland JP Association Councillor Tamati Howard says they chose to bring their services ‘‘to the public. We decided on PAK’nSAVE because it would be convenient for the community’’.

Lovey Latu who was waiting in the queue to meet with the JP says having a service desk at the supermarket ‘‘is awesome!’’.

‘‘Every time I need a JP, I can never find one. This is convenient,’’ she says.
