AIRPORT ALERT

The check-in area at Auckland International Airport was evacuated last Wednesday afternoon due to a fire alarm. A Fire Services spokesman said four crews responded to the alarmcallout, which occurred just before 1.30pm. A spokesman for the airport said two sensors went off in the same area, but fire services had cleared all areas and there were no signs of fire. No flights were delayed as a result of the evacuation, he said.
