Expect more train services during ‘‘March Madness’’ this year. Auckland Transport will be increasing train services during this busy period. The timetable change from March 12 adds 1,194 extra spaces during the morning peak. Southern line gets 398 while the eastern line will get 796 extra spaces. ‘‘We know the number of public transport passengers peaks in March as students head back to their studies, schools are in termand lower numbers of people are on leave. It’s known as ‘March Madness’ and since March last year we’ve worked hard to get more services on some of our busiest routes,’’ group manager of AT Metro operations Brendon Main says.
