STORM TAKES TOLL
Stormy weather has taken its toll in Auckland, with a roof partially blown off a house and another dwelling receiving a glancing blow from a lightning bolt on Monday evening. High winds caused a roof to be partially blown off a Clarks Beach home south of Auckland. A Northern Fire Comms spokesman said contractors were working to secure the home. MetService Meteorologist Brian Mercer said the weather wasn’t unusual for spring when unsettled conditions were common.
